NEW! A Huge Pink Tree Painting to Celebrate Spring and New Life!

Living Strong Pink Tree Painting Original Acrylics

In a few short weeks, we’ll be baaaahck in Maryland, for the always maaahvelous Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival 2024 - it’s my favorite event of the year, and I usually have a huge booth up on the main Midway walkway.

Since I’ve started up with touring to events again, my booth walls have been mostly cleared out - I was struggling just to fill a smallish booth this year, so I find myself back in the studio, adding more paintings to the collection.

This week, it’s been a rather large 36 inch x 36 inch acrylic painting on canvas - a large pink tree. If you’ve been following my work for any amount of time, you’ll be familiar with my colorful trees.

They are often backdrops for the Sheep Incognito meadows, or just stand on their own. I love painting them, and they do add a lot of brightness to the walls.
This is probably the largest one I’ve ever painted - so it’s been just a bit anxiety-inducing painting times this week…

As it sometimes happens, while I am painting, I think about what message this painting might be carrying. And this one reminded me of restarting my life after a rather difficult divorce, with an added dash of cancer scare and major operation, and a hefty dose of anxiety about the future of my little family - being a single mom in that situation, was nothing short of traumatic, with all the court dates, nonsensical demands of a jilted ex, doctor’s appointments, surgery recoverings, and about 40 shows to run at the same time - all while trying to ensure my teenage girls still got to go to prom, graduate, learn to drive, etc.
Let’s just say it was not my favorite time in life - and “Living Strong” was about as far away from my life as I could get it. However - in hindsight - indeed, my girls and I DID continue on, and came out the other end strong, resilient, and definitely in happier colors. The wind we withstood togeterh served not only to make our roots stronger, but also to ground our family in a more peaceful place in life. What was meant to destroy all of us, turned into something much better in the end. The pile of broken sticks we were handed, we built into a beautiful family tree.
So this one has quite a strong connection to my life - and hopefully sends encouraging vibes, hope for the future, celebration of standing your ground to you, as well.
Or: just a pretty pop of color for your home.

Either way: it should bring happiness wherever it winds up in the end.

The colors on the room mockups are quite close to the original painting’s colors - the in-progress photos were taking in varying lighting conditions, that is why the colors differ from image to image.
